Episode Synopsis:
With a typhoon on the way, everyone’s plans are cancelled so they hang out at the Everymart. Later, the debt collectors join them by chance, and they make and eat a hot pot.
Episode Review:
It’s been a while since I’ve watched an episode of anime that is so low stakes and cozy. For a show that’s already almost a slice of life, we’re in full slice of life territory this time. As a result there’s relatively little to say about the episode – nothing of consequence really happens – but it was still fun to watch anyway. They keep from being bored with a variety of methods:
If anything can truly be said to have happened this episode, it’s the easing of tensions between Sasaki and the debt collector Team Rocket trio. Of course he no longer owes them money, but seeing them stumble into the store during the storm naturally had him on edge. Super-conveniently, they are each carrying one-third of the ingredients for a delicious hot pot.
A long afternoon of hot pot and discussion, though, heals all wounds.
The episode left me feeling relaxed… and hungry.
